Baz and Mammy Nancy Celebrate Emmy win in style

Baz Ashmawy and his Mammy Nancy have taken home the International Emmy for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment and they are currently celebrating by having some chicken wings in an Irish bar in New York.

Speaking on The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTÉ Radio 1, Baz described the moment that they found out they had won the award for 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy as surreal.

"She [Nancy] put it very well, she said as soon as they mentioned that 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy was the one that won, she said she didn't remember anything, that it was like floating," he said.

"Then we went up onto the stage and said words and spoke to a crowd of very sophisticated television people from all around the world, and she nailed it, I'm just so proud of her to be honest."

While they may not have expected to win an Emmy for their show, Baz added that it's all down to his Mammy, "Its amazing result and Nancy played a blinder, she looked beautiful on my arm and then went and stole the show a little, which I'm a bit annoyed about, but it's her Emmy."

Baz tweeted this morning that he is "very touched" from the reaction following his Emmy win, saying his mum is "so happy".

Start The Week With a Smile

Quick Thinker...

A old man in Melbourne walked into the produce section of his local supermarket and
asked to buy half a head of cabbage. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of cabbage. The man was insistent that the boy ask the manager about the matter. Walking into the back room, the boy said to the manager,
"Some old bastard outside wants to buy half a head of cabbage."
As he finished his sentence, he turned around to find that the man had followed and
was standing right behind him, so the boy quickly added,
"and this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half."
The manager approved the deal and the man went on his way.

Later, the manager said to the boy...........
"I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier,
we like people who can think on their feet here, where are you from son?"
"New Zealand, sir," the boy replied.
Why did you leave New Zealand ?" the manager asked.
The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but prostitutes and rugby players there."
"Is that right?" replied the manager, "My wife is from New Zealand!"
"Really?" replied the boy, "Who did she play for?"

Worth Repeating...

Duct Tape - Bush Mechanics at its best!

(For some reason, many of you did not get the photos in these two items in last weeks Newsletter ...so I have repeated the photos ....  Hopefully you will get the photos this time.. CB )

How about this?   Real "Bush Mechanic" skills at their very best!     Like a flight?   During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and fishermen   left a cooler with bait in the airplane.  A bear smelled it.  This is what it did to the plane ...

The pilot used his radio and had another pilot bring him 2 new tyres, 3 cases of duct tape, and a supply of sheet plastic...  He patched the plane together, and FLEW IT HOME!

Duct Tape. . .Never Leave Home Without It! .

Thanks to colleague Janet Wynne for the above......CB
